2018 HR Cruises / Excursions

We're visiting Puerto Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico.

Excursions - February 10-15, 2018

There are many excursion options that await you in Mexico. Or, you may want to stay on the ship and enjoy having less cruisers on board!

There are two types of excursions:
Royal Caribbean sanctioned excursions
  • RCCL does the research and provides a variety of options including beach-going, sailing, and other adventures.  The benefit to going through RCCL for your excursion is that the options are vetted by RCCL AND if for some reason you are late returning to port - RCCL will wait for you.  Not a bad thing!
Non - RCCL sanctioned excursions.
  • Some cruisers like to organize his/her own excursions.  If your comfort level is high and/or you've been to the destination before - doing your own thing could be an option.
  • Here's the downside- if for some reason you are late returning to port - RCCL WILL NOT WAIT FOR YOU!   Not a good thing!

Remember - the cruise lines are very punctual and will leave on time. Play close attention to what time the ship is on. Sometimes "ship time" is NOT the same as "local time."

Maya Chan - Puerto Costa Maya, Mexico

Maya Chan Beach Resort is located four miles south of the busy Port of Costa Maya. An oasis far from the hustle and bustle of tourism, and the hectic open restaurants and bars of the local village of Mahahual, this all-inclusive beach break has been designed for the discerning cruiser who might not want to adhere to the strict regimen of a shore excursion. There is no need to rush off the ship to secure a spot in the shade, as this Costa Maya location reserves your spot ahead of time and holds it for you until you arrive. Glass bottom kayaks are available for use all day, as well as complimentary snorkel gear. Lunch is served fresh and hot off the grill, when you are ready to eat, not on a preplanned schedule.
